Watching the world sail by

The weather at Carey Bay hasn't been the best lately so, this evening after dinner, when conditions were pleasant with a lovely breeze off the lake I took my can of Coca-Cola out on the back verandah and watched the passing parade. The local sailing clubs host twilight races on a Wednesday evening so there were a few yachts about.

It was a pleasant interlude until the bugs started to bite. Next time I will make sure I use the insect repellant that was on the table beside me.

20 Something Snaps of the Humble Hamburger

When away from home we often turn to a Humble Hamburger for a safe choice and something familiar on a strange menu....and it's usually washed down with a Diet Coke.

When travelling we are often confronted with advertising for this American icon. However, I couldn't find any relevant snaps from Scandanavia, Iceland or Greenland.

Most of these are a bit fuzzy as they are Bus Photos (taken from a tour bus).

Bubbles

I am rather fond of drinks that have bubbles like Perrier and Pepsi or my other favourites Coca-Cola and Champagne. As we are no longer allowed to call our wonderful sparkling Australian wines Champagne I just call them all Bubbly.

In our family we celebrate everything from births to burials and any event we deem appropriate in between with a glass or three of bubbly. As I'm not a connoisseur of fine wine I will drink practically anything as long as I like the taste. Over the years I have samples a few tipples. Here are a few. CHEERS!

We enjoyed this in Budapest

Great Western in 1987

Christmas 1998

Another bottle done and dusted

We are always welcomed on Regent with a bottle or two

Calming the pre-flight nerves in the Qantas Lounge

I'm happy to drink Prosecco if it's not too sweet

This was a Bubbly ordinaire on Regent

I don't buy Veuve but if someone gifts it we have to drink it

A glass of Bubbly is always good after a hard day at sea
