There's no-one on the beach today.

 Our second visit to Comogli, Italy, was in stark contrast to our last visit when the beach was crawling with tourists.

A Morning's Doordling

As I didn't need to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa for a fifth time I stayed back at our hotel in lovely Lucca while the tour group went to Pisa. 

I did my own walking tour of our neighbourhood in the Old City. When I set out it was peaceful but it got rather busy as the daytrippers aarrived. I'll go out again when the crowds die down.

While I took lots of photos I'll make this a Doordling post. 

Villa Adriana

Yesterday we travelled out of Rome to the Tivoli area. The first site we visited was Villa Adriana (Hadrian's Villa) a World Heritage site from the 1st century AD.

We had no intention of visiting this place that we hadn't heard anything about but I was desperate to visit the nearby Villa D'Este. When trying to book a tour for the latter from Rome we found that they were bundled with a visit to Hadrian's Villa so we signed up. Am I pleased that we did!

We set off from Rome Tomorrow morning after a meet and greet dinner tonight.

Tucker time just across the corner from our hotel. We've had a few good meals in Italy, tonight's was excellent.

20 Something Snaps - Ciao Roma

Settled comfortably in the Guardian Hotel, Rome. Started off with a Cappuccino in the hotel courtyard while we waited for our room to be ready.

 

Once we were settled in our room we took a stroll around our neighbourhood prior to hitting the tourist trail tomorrow.
