East India Dock

We took another trip on the tube today. Our destination was the Free Museum of London Docklands in the West India Quay area. As we took a couple of wrong turns between the station and the Museum we noticed the amount of new development around this previously rundown area.

The Museum had a good range of exhibits and activities to cater to all tastes and ages. Mr GeniAus and I certainly added to our knowledge of the area in which some of our ancestors lived. After a bite and rest in the Museum's cafe we retreated to our hotel to prepare for a dinner I had organised for the Australian Genealogists who are in London for the Rootstech Conference.

Following are a few snaps we grabbed at the Museum.

Signs of London

Our flight to London yesterday in Emirates Business Class was comfortable and uneventful.

After a good night's sleep at the Crowne Plaza in Docklands we set off on the tube for London. Our destinations were the SkyGarden and the London Mithraeum. In between these two exceptional visits we meandered through the streets reacquainting ourselves with one of our favourite cities.

The signs we snapped tell a small part of London's story.
