Chicken Dinner

Table centrepiece for dinner tonight. Are my visitors going to be polite or will they realise it's a folly?

I purchased this item from a street vendor in Mindelo, Cape Verde, who was sitting on the footpath making crocheted items for sale.

Blokus time at our house today. 

We are lucky that we have a "toy room" with plenty of goodies to amuse the kids. 

Found

Mr GeniAus found a parcel for me on our doorstep yesterday. As we don't use our front door (only strangers do that) we don't know how long the parcel had been sitting there.

On opening it I found a book and inside was a note from Hachette Books that read "Congratulations, Happy Reading". I guess the book was a prize from some competition I entered!

My surprise

As I'm curious it may jump to the top of my reading list.

Diary of a Decrapifier

On Facebook earlier this week I announced that I was going to engage in some decrapifying. It is now Friday and I am having trouble remembering what I have ditched already.

Both Mr GeniAus and I are committed to this exercise which we hope to sustain until we set off on  our next holiday.

I am adding this new page to my blog so that I can keep track of what I've ditched and to give myself much needed positive reinforcement..

Fab Film

 Saw a fab film, The Hundred Foot Journey,  last night at Castle Hill.

La Vinotheque

As a former librarian I love visiting bibliotheques when I am travelling however I was tempted to pop into this emprorium when I was holidaying in Bordeaux. 

BTW I love the word Vinotheque.
