Wine on Wednesday

We have been known to have a tipple with dinner, not just on a Wednesday, but whenever we feel like a drop.

Most of the wines we consume at home come via Qantas Wine. Others find their way to our door via a local  grog shop or with a generous visitor. We are partial to bubbles, dry whites and rose. On occasion we may be tempted with a glass of red. We have been known to accompany a meal in a restaurant or cruise ship with wine. Family celebrations are often accompanied by a glass or two of bubbly.

I often take photos of the bottles we empty so that we can seek them out at a later date. Following are a some snaps of  wine we have sampled this year.

A-Z Blogging Challenge 2025 - W is for Water and Wine

As I travel the world I take many photos that pique my interest, these could be lumped into a "peculiar category" ie. they are peculiar to my interests and may be different from what one usually sees in a collection of travel photos.

For the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge in 2025 my theme is Peculiar Pics. During April I invite you to join me for an online tour of Peculiar Pics from my digital albums. These will be sourced from my travels between April 2024 to March 2025.

Water and Wine have been on my mind since at school I learnt about Jesus' miracle at the Wedding Feast of Cana. Over the intervening years I have enjoyed many a fine drop of both these beverages. I managed a few sips in our travels last year.

Al Fresco

 4 October 2021

The mercury at our home on the Lake hit 30c today so it was best to stay indoors during the heat of the day. The conditions at dusk, however, were perfect to have an al fresco dinner out on our deck/balcony/verandah with its stunning views of Lake Macquarie.

As Mr GeniAus had cooked a lovely Crispy Pork with Noodles dish that was served in a bowl we were able to sit in our comfy chairs outside and enjoy our meal which we complemented with a nice but Risky Australian Pinot Gris

Risky Business

It isn't a party without Paddy who joined us for our repast

I'd still be out there enjoying the atmosphere but I was driven inside by some pesky bities who were feasting on my wrists and ankles. We'll plug our bug zapper in before our next sortie for an al fresco meal.

An Occasional Tipple

From time to time Mr GeniAus and I enjoy a bottle of wine with our dinner. During lockdown we have been buying wines online from Qantas and Naked Wines. We much prefer the wines from Qantas but, as we never waste a drop, we always manage to finish the bottles we open.

I am one of those people who takes photos of just about anything. Today I am sharing snaps of some of the bottles we have emptied during this year.
