ZigZag in Zanzibar

This month I am participating in the A-Z Blogging Challenge where I will endeavour to post on this blog each day. I will be sharing photos of Windows that I have photographed on my travels and highlighting from A-Z the places where I found these Windows on the World.

A cruise in 2015 took us across the Indian Ocean and down the East Coast of Africa. One of our stops was in Zanzibar where we zig-zagged around on a tour of the sights. As this is my last post for the 2017 challenge I am sharing a bumper crop of photos.

Windows on the World - Y is for Yachts in Yvoire

This month I am participating in the A-Z Blogging Challenge where I will endeavour to post on this blog each day. I will be sharing photos of Windows that I have photographed on my travels and highlighting from A-Z the places where I found these Windows on the World.

Yvoire is a pretty town on the shores of Lac Leman. We saw many quaint windows there on our visit with friends in 2015.

Windows on the World - G is for Glorious Giverny

This month I am participating in the A-Z Blogging Challenge where I will endeavour to post on this blog each day. I will be sharing photos of Windows that I have photographed on my travels and highlighting from A-Z the places where I found these Windows on the World.

For many years I had wanted to visit Monet's Gardens in Giverny. I was happy to give up my one full day in Paris in 2015 to visit this site and I was not disappointed. I hope to return again one day. While the gardens are glorious there are some pretty windows in Monet's house some of which frame views of the gardens.

Windows on the World - F is for Fabulous Fenestration in Freiburg

This month I am participating in the A-Z Blogging Challenge where I will endeavour to post on this blog each day. I will be sharing photos of Windows that I have photographed on my travels and highlighting from A-Z the places where I found these Windows on the World.

After flying to Frankfurt we grabbed a rental car and started driving towards the French Alps. When tiredness hit us we checked the internet to find a town that might accommodate two travellers. It was fortuitous that we found Freiburg, Germany.

Prior to setting off the next morning we found a convenient McDonalds for breakfast and discovered that Freiburg was a medieval city with some fantastic buildings which had some beautifully ornate windows. Even the newish library got into the act with a clever bit of signage covering the window.

Windows on the World - C is for CableCar in Cape Town

This month I am participating in the A-Z Blogging Challenge where I will endeavour to post on this blog each day. I will be sharing photos of Windows that I have photographed on my travels and highlighting from A-Z the places where I found these Windows on the World.

The views from the windows of the rotating cablecar that took us to the top of Table Mountain in Cape Town were spectacular but nothing compared with the visual feast awaiting us at the end of the ride.
