Does any tourist to the battlefields go to have fun? I hope not. Lots of great quotes there. The diary is special…so matter of fact about going over the top and losing a mate. I wonder if the writer survived. Loved Queen Vic’s quote.

ReplyDeleteIt was a sobering and memorable journey. Our guide had told us of the tablet in Amiens Cathedral, we were determined to find it - that took quite a while.
