Our local Rotary Club organises an event in our backyard on the lake each Christmas Eve. In previous years we have stood with family members on our jetty and watched the flotilla of local boats follow Santa sailing in Paydirt on his route from Bolton Point to Wangi Wangi.

Now that we are proud boat owners we decided to join the flotilla as it followed Santa. Accompanied by our daughter's family we were one of the first boats to join Santa just before Bolton Point. Many vessels of all shapes and sizes joined us as we made our way around the lake's shore to Toronto and onwards towards Rathmines. We left the large fleet at Coal Point and made our way back home to Carey Bay for a barbeque dinner.
Conditions on the lake were good, although the water was slightly choppy the sun was shining brightly. It was wonderful to see so many people along the shoreline and out on jetties partying and enjoying the parade. It was lovely to see many of our neighbours in Carey Bay out and waving as we went by.
I had fun taking photos with my new phone as we bumped along, I couldn't see what I was taking so my snaps are real point and shoots. At one stage my grandson told me I was taking selfies, on reviewing the photos I had taken over twenty pics of myself.
It was a fantastic event and an amazing way to kick off our Christmas celebrations. Thanks Toronto Rotary.
Thanks to friend and neighbour, Marnie, who took this pic of us as we went by her jetty.
