Race through the Old City

Due to the poor time management skills of our tour guide who had wasted precious minutes earlier in the day we had a swift tour through the Old City in Jerusalem.

Thankfully we snapped plenty of photos of our flying visit as we dashed and dodged along the narrow lanes and alleys.

We made it

After a delayed arrival in Jerusalem this morning we set out on our truncated tour more than three hours behind schedule.

The Israeli authorities had notified our captain last night that, as there was a military exercise taking place in the area, our arrival to the port would be delayed. I felt sorry for the crew who had a mad scramble to reorganise all the tours and for those passengers who were visiting Jerusalem for the first time. We had previously done this tour but wanted to do it again as there is so much to observe and absorb in such an important site.

Our first stop was at a lookout from which we could see cemeteries, churches, housing and the Old City. In spite of the smog we had fantastic vistas.

Windows on the World - J is for Journeying in Jerusalem, Jesus' Neighbourhood

This month I am participating in the A-Z Blogging Challenge where I will endeavour to post on this blog each day. I will be sharing photos of Windows that I have photographed on my travels and highlighting from A-Z the places where I found these Windows on the World.

When on our three day cruise visit to Israel in 2014 my mind wasn't on taking pictures of windows, but having reviewed my albums, I found a few snaps to share.
