Blogging from A to Z 2026 - Y is for Young

As I travel the world I take many photos that pique my interest. During the year April 2025 to March 2026 our travels included visits to many islands large and small. My theme for 2026 Island Hopping will give precedence to Islands visited in the past year but for those difficult letters like X and Z I will dig into my photo archives for content.

The young people we met on our island journeys, with their innocence, curiosity, and innate friendliness,  brought an added richness to our travels. Some of them happily posed for us while I caught others enjoying their environments.

Finger Licking Good

This little chap at a village we visited yesterday in Alotau PNG enjoyed the chocolates given to him by one of our fellow passengers from the Mariner.

Bingerville Boys

When we recently visited the Government Boy's Orphanage in Bingerville, Ivory Coast we asked why the boys were there as we thought they may be HIV/AIDS orphans.

We were told that they were children of poor parents who gave them up because they couldn't afford to keep them.

Windows on the World - T is for Telescope on Tokyo

This month I am participating in the A-Z Blogging Challenge where I will endeavour to post on this blog each day. I will be sharing photos of Windows that I have photographed on my travels and highlighting from A-Z the places where I found these Windows on the World.

In today's post I go back to 2004 when we visited the Tokyo Tower in Japan. Although the atmosphere was foggy/smoggy we were able to see to the ground below but we were not able to see distant vistas.
