20 Something Snaps - On with the Show

Having been to my first live show in ages I spoilt myself with some reminiscences this evening. I love leaving reality behind and catching a show, while I am particularly fond of musicals I am happy to enjoy a light drama.

Sometimes I even take a few photos inside or outside the theatre as a souvenir of an entertaining evening or afternoon. I am amazed at the photos I don't have, perhaps I just haven't labelled them.

I had forgotten about some of these shows but my memories of some will never fade.

Can't remember much about this one

Can't remember this one either

Didn't get to see Rock of Ages in London that time, we had to leave the theatre as there was a bomb scare. We managed to see it in Sydney

Saw this for a second time in London. Robert wasn't impressed

Saw this in Sydney with some grandchildren

Enjoyed this, the cast was excellent

Had to tick this classic off our list, it was good

Magnificent show

Loved this performed in the old Council Chamber

Hilarious slapstick

I don't understand the hype

Another Sydney show with grandchildren

We went to a Bollywood movie in Mumbai

I think I enjoyed this in NYC

First tim Book of Mormon in New York. Fabulous.

A spectacular show but the security man took my plastic drink bottle away

Michael Crawford was the drawcard

My kind of show

Didn't know what to expect - it was fantastic

Lloyd Webber at his best

Another Top show

Another classic I had to see. Hmm.

I would have enjoyed it more if there was enough legroom for my short legs.

Beuatiful stylish production in the round

Book of Mormon - this time in London, Amazing show

A matinee to see Felicity Kendall - the show was ok.

Million Dollar Quartet in Chicago didn't impress

Can't remember the details, I think it was funny

Wonderful, energetic show

Broadway Extravaganza

For many years I have dreamed about seeing this Christmas show.

Although we had a beaut night watching this extravaganza at Radio City Music Hall the 14 block walk each way in the cold was a challenge.

The only downside was that the security man confiscated my fave water bottle that was empty.

A Room with a view

Installed in our hotel, a simple Holiday Inn just around the corner from Macys Fifth Avenue, and look what we can see out our window. Bonus!!!

Empire State Building at night

Grouchy

Going through some holiday snaps I found this snap of a sign we saw in a government office we visited in New York. I wonder how a similar sign would go down with customers in Australia?

A Walk in the Park

I am ashamed to say that although we have been to New York City half a dozen times I have never set foot in Central Park until today. I was worried that we may be mugged as I'd heard terrible stories about Central Park. Having now visited in the light of day and seeing how busy the place was  I don't know why we stayed away from this peaceful refuge in the noisy city.

We covered around half of the park by pedicab before we set off on foot
Didn't realise there was so much rock around in the park
The sun actually came out today and the mercury climbed above 50f.
The Manhattan Skyline
Spring has nearly arrived
The Mall
With our Serbian pedicab driver - his calves must have been hurting from the uphill sections
This guy was waiting patiently for someone
Strawberry Fields

Strawberry Fields
This energetic chap was diving amongst the leaves for munchies

Mother and son?
Central Park regatta
Thanks to a kind English tourist we have proof of our visit
Serenity
A raucous bunch of students and their disorganised teacher. I think they were trying to get set up to perform.  It seemed like they hadn't rehearsed at all. In all my years in schools I've never seen such an unruly mob.
The smallest toilet stall I have ever used  was in here.
Lots of options to take the weight off one's feet.
The skating season is still in full swing
The other option for a park tour
Budget lunch - a $2 hot dog
