A Day Room

Our 25 day cruise across the Pacific from Papeete to Bali is done and dusted. We had to disembark at 9am this morning but our flight home isn't leaving until 9:30pm tonight.

We learnt, after one of our earlier cruises, that spending twelve hours in an airport is not a pleasant way to finish off a spectacular journey. This time we were smarter and organised a day room at a resort near the airport in Bali. The Holiday Inn Resort Baruna was surprisingly good, the room was well appointed and the grounds which had a large pool were spacious and well tended.

We relaxed, caught up on email, had a late lunch and showered so we were fresh for the flight home. The van transfer from the hotel only took a few minutes. 

Our 3pm lunch in the resort's Asian restaurant has fortified for us for the journey ahead.

Thrilled to be safely back on board our floating home. RSSC Voyager. I think we'll be quite comfortable for the next few weeks. 

Comfy Digs

Installed on the Scenic Eclipse in Ushuaia.  Room is modern, spacious and well appointed, a schmick small ship. The wind is howling so we may be in for rough ride. Antarctica here we come.

On the banks of the Zambezi

Our accommodation at the Sussi and Chuma Lodge on the banks of the Zambezi River in Zambia is very comfortable. We have been fortunate on this Abercrombie and Kent tour to have been accommodated in style, I don't mind this sort of camping!

Sleeping with Winston tonight

We are staying in The Churchill Hotel in York where Winston will be watching over us as we sleep. What will he paint?

Chao Praya

Settled in Bangkok. Nice view up the Chao Praya River from our room — at Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers.

While this is not a fave hotel of mine I'm happy with the view.

First Impressions

 After an uneventful flight up from Bangkok we arrived in Chiang Mai, Thailand for a post cruise Regent tour. I think I'm going to like it here.
