20 Something Snaps - Ancient Culture Street

One of the sites we visited today in Tianjin was Ancient Culture Street where we saw a range of traditional buildings, goods and foods.

The following tour description was pretty accurate:

Along with many shops and places to sample local cuisine, in the middle of the street you will also find the Tianhou Palace, which today houses the Folk Museum of Tianjin. Be sure to look closely and you'll see that nearly all the buildings along the street are constructed with blue bricks and feature colorful pictures of historical figures, flowers and birds painted on their doors and windows. The street is truly a wonderful place to sample the cultural traditions of China and purchase some local handicrafts. 

Eight hours in Shanghai

On our eight hour tour of Shanghai yesterday we did the regular tourist things - a Museum, a Temple, a Market and a Garden plus we had a Chinese Meal and a Chinese Tea Ceremony.

 

Shanghai Lights

We boarded our ship, Seven Seas Mariner,  in Shanghai this afternoon and are ready for our next adventure.

We didn't know about these lights before but are lucky to find ourselves on the right side of the ship to see the show in Shanghai and the parade of small tourist boats out to view it. It rivals the similar show in Hong Kong.

Boeing, Boeing

As regular riders on Boeing aircraft we were keen to tour the Boeing Factory at Everett, Washington  today. Unfortunately taking of photos on the tour is forbidden but after the tour we were able to take a few from a distance.

The Reception is in a separate building from which we were bussed to the factory.

We saw this stretched 747 cargo plane take off. It is used to transport parts for the new 787s.
