The following tour description was pretty accurate:
Along with many shops and places to sample local cuisine, in the middle of the street you will also find the Tianhou Palace, which today houses the Folk Museum of Tianjin. Be sure to look closely and you'll see that nearly all the buildings along the street are constructed with blue bricks and feature colorful pictures of historical figures, flowers and birds painted on their doors and windows. The street is truly a wonderful place to sample the cultural traditions of China and purchase some local handicrafts.
