A-Z Blogging Challenge 2025 - D is for Dogs and Danger

As I travel the world I take many photos that pique my interest, these could be lumped into a "peculiar category" ie. they are peculiar to my interests and may be different from what one usually sees in a collection of travel photos.

For the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge in 2025 my theme is Peculiar Pics. During April I invite you to join me for an online tour of Peculiar Pics from my digital albums. These will be sourced from my travels between April 2024 to March 2025.

We often encounter canines as we wander the world. I am always buoyed by the generosity of their humans who are happy to have their pooches pose for impromptu portraits

In Anno Itinerantur - D is for Dogs

#AtoZChallenge 2023 letter D

In the past year since  travel opened up for Australians Robert and I have taken several journeys at home and overseas. While I posted many photos of these adventures on Facebook I want to leave a more permanent record of some of our adventures. This challenge provides me with opportunities to share my photos and stories while recording some personal history.

I plan to share photos and stories from our travels between April 2022 and March 2023.  My theme this year is In Anno Itinerantur.

From pampered pets to skinny mongrels we see many pooches as we travel. Please meet some of the canines who have posed for me.

Backseat Driver

We have driven up and back to Sydney on the M1 a few times recently. This evening we followed this ute that had an enthusiastic canine backseat driver.

She's a little beauty

A little earlier this morning Robert called to tell me there was a really cute boat in the backyard and to grab my phone and come take a look. I did just that.

I was so pleased that I heeded the call as the little boat was indeed quaint and beautiful. All on board appeared to enjoy their drifting and fishing before they revved up the motor and moved on. Their dog seemed to enjoy the experience more than our Paddy enjoys his boat rides.

These are a few images I captured on my phone.

It's a dog's life...

...and not a bad one at that.

Paddy has enjoyed the company of several family members over the past festive week. He was sad that we we left him home alone on Christmas Day but he wouldn't have enjoyed the long car trip..
