Prehistoric Gem

We weren't particularly impressed with crowded, touristy Santorini today
but we were pleasantly surprised with our tour of Akrotiri, an ancient Minoan site that was covered by a volcanic eruption in about the 16th century BC.

Having an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide and headphones to hear her added to this exceptional tour.

20 Something Snaps - Make or Break

A Tour Guide can make or break a visit to a site. When travelling with Regent we have had guides from both ends of the spectrum, I find most often they are knowledgeable and passionate about their city, town or area of interest.

May I introduce you to some of the guides we have met on our travels.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Paaimut, Greenland

Mekong Delta, Vietnam

Porto Grande, Cape Verde

Visby, Sweden

Napier, New Zealaand

Ghana

Our Guide in Kyoto asked Mr GeniAus to fill in for a while

Venice, Italy

Lost not found

Our guide in Osaka, Japan kindly gave us a card so, if we got lost, she could find us. When we came out of the restroom she was not waiting as promised so we phoned her.

It was a shame that she didn't answer her phone!

When we eventually found her we enjoyed our visit to the Osaka Castle which was surrounded by cherry blossoms.

Here comes the Bride

Our poor guide had trouble managing our group yesterday on our Mount Fuji tour when we came across a traditional Japanese wedding at a shrine we were visiting. We all ditched the guide to snap the wedding party.
