After a fabulous trip through Arnhem Land we flew home from Darwin yesterday.
We missed out on our bid for a Business upgrade so I was pleased we had invested in some extra Legroom seats in Row 4 of the plane. We had a very comfortable trip.
The best part of the flight was the spectacular view we were served as we left Darwin. I happened to take a few snaps as we ascended towards our cruising height.

When we finally emerged from our holding pattern somewhere near Sydney thanks to air traffic congestion this morning it was wonderful to fly past the harbour and city as we made our approach to the airport.
The congestion in the air is an indicator that things are getting back to normal post Covid. Alleluia!
We enjoyed our first helicopter excursion from the Scenic Eclipse so much that, as soon as we landed, we raced off to sign up for a second flight. While our credit cards will take a massive hit from this decision, we know that our memories that will last forever will make it worth the short term fiscal pain.
I was lucky, on this second flight near Booth Island to score the co-pilot's seat so I had even more spectacular views than on our last flight. Here is just a small selection of our snaps that do not do justice to the magnificent vistas we saw.

A highlight of our stay at Sanctuary Chief's Camp in Botswana was a helicopter sightseeing trip over the Okanvango Delta. As this was only the second time I had been on a helicopter I was doubly excited. Our guide was a young Irishman who had spent a considerable piloting helicopters in Australia.
The vistas were exceptional and the flight exhilarating. Our flight was during the dry season, I hope that one day we can return and repeat the experience in the wet season.
