While they are an effective form of traffic management Roundabouts can strike fear into drivers who are not used to them. I remember , on my first visit to London, in 1983, when confronted with large roundabouts I sometimes did a few circuits prior to making an exit.
On our travels we have driven around and sometimes over a number of roundabouts of all sizes. Sometimes these are filled with weeds, sometimes lovingly tended and sometimes they are home to sculptures or other structures.
Here are a few we have seen. As these pics are mostly taken from the windows of moving vehicles their quality is dubious.
