Back to the 70s

Harvey Wallbanger - a fave tipple from the seventies. On Regent Seven Seas Mariner tonight.

Whenever we order this drink we are met with puzzled looks from the young drink waiters.

Harvey Wallbanger x 2

I blogged about Harvey in 2012. Old habits die hard.

First World Problem

Although the internet antenna on our ship is broken we have a (mostly non-existent) internet connection until we pick up a spare part that is being flown to Fiji in a few days

Meanwhile we are having a fab time in the Pacific. Tonight we dined with Captain Aivo.

Self Drive

We grabbed a rental car today and circumnavigated the island of Tahiti in French Polynesia  We saw caves, churches, maares, monuments, sea, storms, statues and surfies.

While we saw many magnificent landscapes we were surprised that there were few white sandy beaches.

We started out at an historic site

A Peak Experience

We took advantage of the glorious sunshine in Tomamu to take a gondola ride to the top of the mountain with a grandson as our guide and photographer.

A Touch of France in Japan

So good to meet up with all the descendants and partners in Tomamu Japan tonight. We had all been in Japan for about a week but were travelling in smaller family groups to suit our interests. We have now  gathered for a week of family fun and snow activities.

Thanks to Club Med staff for accommodating our request for a dinner group of 22 tonight. I particularly enjoyed the bread, cheese and wine while Robert enjoyed his ice-cream.

We had a delicious meal and shared many stories. The young cousins were thrilled to see each other.

After dinner it was early to bed for all the skiers. Robert and I have opted to be observers.
